i have a 95 toyota tacoma pick up with no rear mounting for speakers i use to have jensen 3 way that where in a plastic enclouser with 4 in bass 1-1/2 mid and 1 inch tweater i got a panasonic new head and installed the eclipse 6-1/2 in my door panels for the front i tried to use 6x9 for the rear put in pushes that seat too close to my steering wheel not cortable at all does someone out there know what size i should make my 5 x 7 enclosurers
sounds like a standard cab truck.. my advice.. forget about rear speakers and just properly install the front speakers to get a good stage. stick a sub behind the bench seat and have a blast.
i have to aggree with dave.if you do have a standard cab truck.any speaker you put in the back will over power the fronts.being as they will be on top of your head. go for the sub/s
i am not mounting the speakers over my head they will go behind my seat and i just using a head unit no amps subs i am not into super bass music hip hop more like progressive rock and clasic, instrument music so if any one could help me with sizing these speakers i all ready have and one way or another i will install please help me thank you
so you are putting full range speakers behind your seat.. decided to go with the Ford/Mazda 5x7 size and want to know what size enclosure you should use? Is this the question to my understanding? If so, first of all, you need to measure how deep the speaker itself it so you know the minimum depth of the enclosure. Next, you need to figure out the shape of the enclosure to conform to the space you have available. Finally you need to figure out how much air space is optimal for that particular speaker. Perhaps email the manufacturer for how much air space is needed.. assuming you are sealing the enclosure you wont need to worry about ports. Now i personally dont have experience making enclosures for full range speakers.. my experience is with subs at thats about it when it comes to box building. This is the best I can help you. Now the final results of full range speakers behind a seat isnt going to be very.. well nevermind you don't want to hear about that apparently. On a side note you can easily use the speaker itself to figure out the actual hole size you will need to cut.
If you think that subs is only for hip hop and rap than rethink that. A sub will make any system sound better...regular speakers just can reproduce the frequencys like sub can. Hell my dad has been against subs and loud music until I let him listen to one of his cds in my truck...Now he wants me to install a substage for him....and he listens to old school music
someone ask what kind of equipment i have 95 toyota pick-up no benchseat bucket seats panasonic cq-c5310u head unit still sealed giving to me buy a very good customer eclipse se8365 front speakers eclipse se8375 rear speakers
the equipment i have now 1995 toyota tocoma standard cab bucket seats and no rear speaker mounts stereo equipment panasonic cq-c5310u head unit eclipse se8365 6-1/2 front speakers already installed eclipse se8375 5x7 rear speakers that i need help making enclousures is there someone who works in a installer store that makes custom enclosures out there please help thank you
are there universal 5x7 enclousures out there i see 6x9 and all types of sub boxes on the web but nothing on 6x8 5x7 4x6 etc does anyone knows who has them or a reasonable custom maker
i know .buy a box for a 6x9 and mount your speaker to an adapter plate then to the box.simple. will that work for you?
the 6x9 boxes wont work thanks for the 6x9 box trick but when i purchased my speakers i tried placing the 6x9 behind my seat and it push me too close to my steering wheel thats why i purchased the 5x7 i need the specs to the size our how much air space i need for the 5x7 speakers to make them sound right is there a true expert on this site that can tell me or can you lead me to a site that can tell me the size our air space i need in this enclousure tools are not a problem i have a everything tool i was told it was better to use mdf board then wood and a really good sealant but i was also told that size matters
Any size will work...they are made for free air so it really doesn't matter....Size of the enclosure will really only affect the bass response but there won't be much brain shaking bass from 5x7's
azn is right.anyways there wont be alot of output from the speakers if they are behind the seat.it might just be muffled. heck even a board running the width of your truck with hole cut out for the 5x7's will do.fire them up to get some out put from them.
this isnt rocket science .. omg.. just put the damn speaker next to some wood and cut the **** till it fits in there.. GODDDDDDD.
hey eclipse finally told me air space .33 cubic foot ok so i will make top when the speaker will aim up 6 inches wide and 9 wide how deep do i make them to get my .33 cubic foot he also told me not to use wood but mdf board better for sound and good adhesive what do you recommend for thickest on mdf board and sealent. thats all i need and i will leave you alone thanks for any help please do not forget how deep ok car audio gods give it up
you can get away with half inch mdf...but really you don't need to worry much about the enlcosure size....just make them fit and both the same. If you do want to figure the cu ft...take the total VOLUME and divide by 1728(one cu ft)
