OK,,,I installed a new Pioneer DEH-P6800MP headunit with a built-in MOSFET50 amplifier (22 watts RMS/50 peak x 4 channels. Now I need speakers. I am only interested in replacing the front speakers. I've got a double cab Toyota Tacoma. I am looking for speakers that will work well with the new headunit that I can crank-up without damaging them. Currently the truck has 6 x 9's in the front doors and tweeters. I am not looking to install an amp, just run off of the headunit. What do you guys think???

The key to great sound is a speaker that is mounted solid. No amp, then select a speaker that is effecient. Look for a Sensitvity rating of atleast 92 or better.

But remember solid mount, a little Dynomat around the speaker mounting area will go a long way.

    It should sound good

yeah Ranger is right.. mount them right. High Sensitivity is exactly what you want. Look for a speaker with an RMS of around 25-30 watts or so you are matching up to it right. Don't get one that wants about 100 watts rms as it will sound like crap at that point only putting 22 watts on it.

It won't sound like crap if it has a high sensitivity!! lol
