ok well i traded up from a 94 prelude sr-v to a 97 eclipse spyder gs-t, and while its not a "new" car, its new to me :p

anyway! the car has no stereo in it

my prelude has alpine type-r components and type-r 12" subs, im leaving everything in there, too much work to pull it out and change it, except for the subs, im taking those

so heres what i have so far...

    Deck: Eclipse CD5444
    Subs: Two 12" Type-R

and... well thats all i have, so i need new comps and amps for the comps and subs. i dont know ANYTHING about any of this stuff, its all jibberish to me, so i need help

i listen to hard rock mostly if that makes any difference, and i dont really have a budget, this is going to be my car for... a very long time, im not saying money is no object but i am willing to spend a bit

just looking for something that'll sound good and go loud too, nothing like competition quality, that would be crazy expensive

Um...because 250 watts isn't enough for two type r's...let alone have enough headroom to make use of one...sure it'll sound good but if he's gonna spend some money might as well get some good amount of power for headroom and more dynamic range

all righty then.......then the mch1300 looks like it will fit the bill.

    these should fit your budget.http://www.crutchfield.com/S-8BY8tbX6x5a/cgi-bin/prodgroup.asp?a=1&c=3&s=0&g=400&fit=&size=&cc=01

those are for the front doors.the rears take 6.5s and 5 1/4s too. the dash is a 4in.

your best bet is to look around to what sounds good to you,and if posible try and find a place that has some kind of demo car with something you like.the best thing to do is to trust your ears first.

that site was to get you up to speed on what fits and some price ranges.

crap it wont go to the speaker size page.just fill out the model year and make.this will tell you what fits and what doesnt.

ok forget the link your car will take a 6 1/2 in front and back.
look for a good set of seprates for the front and some coaxials in the back.(2way)

as for power 50 to 75 watts per ch should be plenty.
as for the subs amp 500 to 900 watts or more should do fine.

if you do your homework you should find a good deal online.that MCH1300 looked nice.

if you want your bass now look for a sub amp first.i'm sure your deck and the factory speakers will do for now.

the Memphis Belle 16-MCH1300 that I included in my first post is an excellent amp to run and simplify your install with 1 amp to rule them all!

i dont have a deck installed at the moment and i dont have any speakers lol its stereoless thats why im trying to rush it a bit

mono amp will power both subs correct?

as for comps i was thinking maybe type-x but thats why i was asking for some input first

2 channel amp = right channel and left channel right?
or do i need a 4 channel amp for 4 speakers or two 2 channel amps?

    yes we do.

and as for 2ch=left and right.yes .do you need a 4ch or two 2 ch amps.its up to you.i've seen the back of an eclipse and its not very big.so go for a multi ch amp.
that memphis MCH1300 looks bad ass.and if it does what it says then buddy you'll have one hell of a system.

as for the type x's .why not.all alpine speakers.

if you have the cash to buy them all at once then do it.if not.concetrate on the speakers for now.that way you will at least have some music.

also dont forget to invest in GOOD interconnects(rca's,power wire and the like).i'm assumeing that you will have a shop do the install?make sure they are a good shop.have them show you install photos or let you look at an install in progress.a good shop will let you look.

i'm babbleing now,but there is a lot to consider.unless you will be doing the install yourself.

I would take MB quart speakers over alpine but thats me. MB quart has a very musical sound.

tyvm... theres a 4 channel amp by kicker that i saw on ebay that puts out 215 per channel, i think i'll go with that one, having problems with my back speakers, most of the ones im looking at arent coaxial so i'd either have no tweeters in the back or have to figure out a way to mount them

and yes i would have a shop install it i have no idea how to do it i wouldnt even try

if the ones you are looking at dont have tweeters then you are looking at seperates.look for 2 ways in the back.unless you want to spend more back there too, then go for it.
