damn....I do agree that ford sucks

Well to add some more length to this thread...I am debating on whether to get an Optima yellow top, red top, or Kinetik HC1800 power cell...I am going to mount this battery in the near next to my amplifier.

Or if any of you have any other suggestions...I ony threw in the Kinetik in there because my cousin has a dealers license and can get them for really cheap...

    Yeah the 2.25 cubes sounded small...hey wouldn't the port displacement on your box be .26 cubes not .35? I thought it was (12.5 x 2 x 17.75)/1728?

How do I measure out the L the port is going to make.

This can even be done on the PCM controlled alternators. If you don't mind a check engine light on all the time. But, heed Vikings advice. Don't do it.

don't let my ford hear you say that - she might cry

I have chevy friends, and dodge friends and ricer friends, and they all have enjoyed the occaisional ride to the parts store in my ford. say what you want, but ford makes a fine truck.

but yeah.. vik.. the 61 amp stock alternator is BS

PS>> why the hell won't this thread die?
did that dude ever get the help that he was looking for..?

I'd search for it, but this many pages is just too much work..:D

If you're talking about me... we're still working on the box specs thing. The situation has changed like 10 times because of the damn insurance company and I think I finally settled on one Kicker 05CVR12 and one Kicker 400.1 amp and a ported box.

sounds like an excellent setup. I think that you'll be happier with that than you ever were with the audiobahn stuff. - congrats on the good choices.

    lol just checking...

Do all the port dimensions look correct? I wasn't sure how to measure the turn...

Or do I need to subtract the square in the turn from the 6.5"?

Or should I make the port like an upside down U?

    Exterior Dimensions
    Width - 39"
    Heigth - 14"
    Depth - 14"

    Internal Volume before port displacement
    - approx. 3.4 cu ft

    Port Dimensions
    - 12.5" heigth x 2" width x 17.75" length

    Port Displacement
    - Approx. .35 cu ft

Total useable area 3.04 cu ft

    Tuning approx. 32 Hz

Port is on left face of baffle running down side and along back wall

My bad, I drew the port on the right side instead of the left...but how do I ake the port 17.75" long when it makes a 90 degree turn?

Um...I think you measure the inside wall and that should add up to the total length

Checked the inside wall on my current box for my 15 inch and its correct...measure the inside wall

So besides the fact that my port is on the wrong side, are my calculations correct?

um the volume is correct...I dunno about the tuning though

vent should be on left side and 2 inches from the inside back wall...making it 11.25 inches deep from front of baffle to 2 inches from back wall and after that from the first port wall it should be 6.5 inches.

So 11.25 deep from front baffle and the turn should be 6.5 inches long

I have no idea what you'e saying lol. Can you just draw a quick picture on paint or something?

Um...ok I dunno how to do that lol

If you measure from the face of the baffle to the end of the vent going strait back...it is 11.25 inches. Measuring from the inside of the vent along the back wall should be 6.5 inches long.

So from measuring the inside wall of the vent...should be 11.25 inches strait backand 6.5 inches across the back wall

Get it?? lol also sorry about the hard to understand thing
